The unknown Oriental Christians - Suryoye. The book provides introductory information on the origins, history, and present-day life of the various Syriac churches. It aims to help Syriac Christians better understand their own rich tradition. Furthermore, it opens up an access for Christians in the West to the spiritual treasures of their Oriental fellow Christians, who have come from the Tur Abdin (southeastern Turkey) and the Middle East and found a new home in Central Europe. It is based on a version published in Lebanon, which Prof. A. Heinz (Trier) translated and edited. It also contains a treatise on Syriac Christianity by Fr. Fiey OP (+1995), which is appearing in German for the first time. Language: German, numerous illustrations. Bar Hebraeus Verlag 1997
